I ran a 5k this last Saturday with my brother Ben and my mom did the mile. All the proceeds went to the Wasatch House which is a place that helps mentally ill people. The race started at Timpanogos Park and went to Canyon Glenn then turned around and went back. It was really fun especially since I took 1st place in my age division! (20-25 yrs.) And I finished 31st overall. Which was great because I was worried about not being able to run the whole way but I did and could have kept going. This keeps me motivated to keep running and hopefully do a 10k next year. We also got a jogging stroller so I can run better on my jogs with Cambria. Our old stroller was not working out for exercising.

WE WON!
Yes, you heard correctly we finally won something! What did we win you ask? The lottery, a new car, a house? NO! Even better than all of that!
This afternoon I (skyler) had a sweet tooth, and luckily my wonderful wife had gone to the store yesterday and had purchased some fruit snacks (gushers). So I opened the box and grabbed a pouch. As I was about to close the box I noticed something stuck to the side of the box, so I reached in and pulled it out, and it was a credit card. I looked at the card and sure enough, we had won!
$5!!!!!
I thought I was dreaming and then we went to the website where we activated the card, and sure enough this little image assured me it was real!
So for all of you who said I would never win anything...TAKE THAT! When was the last time YOU won $5!?

Baby Giraffe
I forgot to mention that at the Hogle Zoo they have a brand new baby giraffe and we got to see him! He was 8 days old when we were there and already 6 feet tall.
Little known fact: When the mother gives birth she stays standing and the giraffe just falls about 8 feet down. And within the first hour after birth they learn how to run.
Cambria had her 12-month appointment yesterday and the doctor says she is doing great! She now weights a whopping 18 pounds 12 ounces and is 30 1/4 inches tall. She is in the 90% for height and head circumference but the 20% for weight. She still can't be in a forward facing car seat yet. But she can now drink milk and eat fun stuff like peanut butter which was a success at lunch today but was very messy.
Little know fact about peanut butter: It's probably my favorite food/condiment.

Onion Days Parade
My grandpa lives in Salem so we traveled down there Saturday morning for the parade because it passes right in front of his house. This was Cambria's first parade and she enjoyed waving at the people as they passed by. She enjoyed the parade so much that she decided she wanted to be in it and started walking down the street waving at everyone watching. But after she had gone about 15 feet she fell and unfortunately landed right on her face. She didn't enjoy the parade very much after that. She scraped herself up a little but is doing fine now. Here are some pictures before the accident.

Happy Birthday
Cambria celebrated her first birthday on Friday and we had a lot of fun! We spent the day at the zoo, ate lunch at a park in Salt Lake, came home and made cakes, then had a party. She was really tired by the end of the day and fell asleep about an hour earlier than she normally does, but I think she had fun. Here are some pictures from her birthday and they aren't in order because loading pictures on here bugs me so here ya go...
Helping decorate for the party.
I tried really hard to keep her clean but it didn't work out. She was a mess because she just put her whole face on the cake.
Opening one of the MANY presents she got.

Something Cute and Funny
So I was working tonight and Jessica was getting ready for bed.
Part of the "nightly ritual" is to clean up the toys we used to wear Cambria out so she would fall asleep.
Jessica asked me if I had seen some plastic balls that go into one of the many toys Cambria has. I told her I had not and continued to work.
Once my work was complete I too got ready for bed. In the process I was putting away my computer into my bag and noticed the computer didn't fit as snug as normal. I tried moving it around but then I realized there was something blocking the computer from fitting fully.
I pulled the computer out and found not only the two balls we were looking for but a few other smaller toys.
I started laughing and showed Jessica what our daughter had done. It makes me wonder how many more times I can expect to not be able to find something that Cambria decided needed to be put somewhere else.
I am sure I can look forward to that happening quite often!

Happy Girl
So my mom had this free sitting and portrait special thingy from Fotogenix so we took Cambria down to get her picture taken a while ago. I wasn't too impressed with them because their customer service was bad and the boy that helped us should be fired but I still think Cambria is cute! She's will be one on Friday but I feel like I'm having another birthday because I will be more excited that day than she will be!
