Winter Festivities

We have been pretty busy lately. The day after Thanksgiving we went to Thanksgiving Point and saw the Christmas lights which I thought were kind of lame... and would not recommend going to, but their hot chocolate was good. We will probably be going to the Hogle Zoo to see those lights sometime so hopefully they will make up for it. But Cambria LOVED seeing the reindeer!

Skyler and I always go to the Festival of Trees but he is out of town so I went with my mom this year. Cambria did pretty well since she doesn't like sitting for more than a few minutes but she was fine if she had food. So I kept her belly full with caramel apples and a rice krispy treat.

Here we are 5 years ago at the Festival of Trees. So cute.

23-year old me at the festival.

I also made Cambria a dress (which I love) that cost less than 5 dollars to make! I have seen dresses like this before but just made it up as I went and I'm proud of it. Next time I will add more tule to the bottom though to make it more full.

2 seconds later she tipped this bear over and broke it. I should have known better than to put him on the floor.

Our tree may not last until Christmas because I am tired of keeping Cambria away from it and re-stringing the lights every day.

Otter Chaos

Link
For those of you who knew me in 5th grade know that my fascination with otters started then when I randomly decided to do my science fair project on them and even won 1st place in the animal division! I should say that my dad won first place because he was the one who made me the diorama of the otter's home.
Thanks National Geographic for making me happy tonight when I was bored but have a lot of things I should be doing instead.
That picture reminds me of Cambria saying "oh no" like she always does because she even puts her hands on her cheeks (if she were an otter of course).

Races, turkeys, and pies. Oh my!

What were you doing Thanksgiving morning at 8:00am when it was 23 degrees outside? I was running the Turkey Trot in American Fork and it. was. cold.
But after the first mile I warmed up really fast and wished I could have taken off the jacket I was wearing. I set a new record for my 5k time at 24:23. So a whole minute faster than my last race time.
I finished second in my age group and as a result I won a pumpkin pie, which was delicious by the way.
This is just after I finished the race.

If you look real close you can see me on the last stretch of the race. (I'm the one wearing red pants.)
We had a niceThanksgiving dinner and had a lot of fun playing outside because the weather was nice and Cambria loves being outside.

Cambria and Skyler making Cambria's favorite face to make because she is always says "oooh" to everything.
I made a candied apple pumpkin cheesecake pie which I thought was delicious and it looked really pretty too.

Pretty in Purple

I've been busy sewing a Christmas dress for Cambria but struggled getting her to hold still for me to take her picture today. She has so much energy and is always running all over the place and it is impossible to take a nice picture of her. But you get the idea of what it looks like. It also has a faux fur jacket that goes over the top but I have not made that yet.

I also made a dress for myself a few weeks ago and kept forgetting to take pictures of it.

This is me being exasperated at trying to get her to hold still for a second to take a picture with me.
