First Food

Cambria had rice cereal for the first time Saturday. She did really well! She takes about ten spoonfulls at a time and who knows how much she actually gets in her tummy but atleast she's learning. She seems to like it too.

She's so good she even wipes her own mouth when she's all done.

Christmas

We had a really great Christmas! All my family was in town for the holiday and the week before we were able to celebrate with all of Skyler's family. We both participated in the Christmas program in our ward by me playing the flute and Skyler spoke. It was a lot of fun but I'm not sure how people found out I could play the flute. Cambria got most of the presents this year but we were okay with that! These are her new Nemo pajamas, it's pretty fitting she finally has Nemo jammies because that was her nickname for a long time.

We had fun taking pictures of her while we were waiting for her Christmas outfit to dry so we could put her in it. Thanks to Skyler for being able to do cool things with his camera.

Cute Family

New Family Pictures

Thanks to Maddie we now have some really great family pictures. We went to the Riverwoods before it snowed and took some fun pictures in our Christmas outfits.

Temple Square

This was us at Temple Square right before Skyler left on his mission. Not really much has changed...

We went to Temple Square Saturday and it was really busy so I wasn't having that much fun and the last few times we've been together it wasn't crowded at all. It doesn't matter that when we went last the lights were turned off and they were locking the gates because we got there at 10:00pm.

4-months!

Cambria went to the doctor today and he said she's doing "fabulously well". She weighs 13.8 lbs. and is 25 inches long. Her height and head circumference is still in the 75% and her weight is now in the 50%. He also said that we shouldn't spoil her too much this Christmas because him and his wife learned that the hard way. But I don't believe in buying something for her and wrapping it up and putting it under our tree just to unwrap it and not be surprised by it later. I've let her grandparents do that for us. I also didn't let Skyler wrap my present because I picked it out a few days ago and really just want to be able use it right now and then put it back without him knowing.

Gingerbread Cookies

Skyler's sister Carly made gingerbread cookies on Sunday and she decorated one of me and Skyler. When we got there I liked them so much I made one of Cambria. If you notice she has a bow on her head just like real Cambria. Also, Kevin thought she looked so delicious that he ate her leg so we operated on her and she's now as good as new.

Free Music Using Google

Contrary to popular belief you can still get free music on the internet without having to download a bit-torrent or any type of a Napstar Spin-off. You can simply use Google. I have been doing this for a while and people have asked me how I do it so here is how:

1. Go to Google.com and type in (or just click on this link): -inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:”index of” +”last modified” +”parent directory” +description +size +(wma|mp3) “Counting Crows”

• Just simply change the part in quotations (i.e. "Counting Crows") to whatever band or song name you want to look up.

2. Now look for a page that looks something like this:

• Index of /mp3/Counting Crows - 2 visits - Aug 13 Icon, Name · Last modified · Size · Description. [DIR], Parent Directory, -. [ SND], Counting Crows - A Murder Of One.mp3, 1-Oct-2007 1:14, 3.3M ... audiozen.us/mp3/c/Counting%20Crows/ - 6k - Cached - Similar pages - Note this
  

3. When you click on that link you will see songs listed, right click on the song and select
"Save Link As"

Now make sure that when you are choosing the file location that under "File Type" it says "mp3, MPEG Layer 3 Audio, or mp4". Any of those file types will work, if they say anything else "hypertext, firefox file" or anything besides what I have listed-it will not work!

I wanted to add my favorite song and get your comments on it but I could only find the YouTube version of it so here it is:

3-months

Cambria is now 3-months old and has doubled her weight when she was first born! She loves to roll over on to her stomach but has yet to figure out how to roll back on to her back. She loves singing with you when you sing and also loves it when her dad kisses her cheeks because it always makes her laugh. She sleeps really well at night which makes us really happy but she has a hard time sitting still so I can't hold her like I use to because she always wants to be moving.

I voted!!

Today for the first time ever I voted! I was really excited to get my sticker too and the nice lady gave Cambria a stick which I'm sure she's just thrilled to have. So thrilled in fact that today she rolled over from her back to her tummy for the first time. She was rolling on her side all night last night and today she finally made it all the way over. She's had such a fulfilling day.

Family Pictures

We tried to get some family pictures taken but I didn't like the way I looked in them and Cambria is camera shy! She will be laughing or smiling and every time we try to get it on camera she just stops and stares at the camera so this is the best we could do.

Halloween

For Halloween Cambria was a little sick with a stomach bug so she wasn't too happy all day but we still had fun at Grandma Law's trunk-or-treat and passing out candy at Grandma and Grandpa Tolman's house.

Happy or Sad Halloween

We thought she would look pretty cute sitting in the little pumpkin but she didn't like it too much. I wanted her to be a hotdog for Halloween but Skyler refused and said the costume was too ridiculous and that's why I thought she should be a hotdog. Then we could have dressed up like ketchup and mustard but Skyler wouldn't have that. So she is being a mummy instead. She only has two houses to trick-or-treat to so hopefully her grandparents get her lots of candy!

2-month visit

Cambria went to the doctor yesterday to get her checkup and her immunizations. She had to get five pokes in her little legs! Now they are bruised and a little swollen so she wasn't too happy yesterday. But that means she's sleeping quite a bit today because all the crying has worn her out. She now weights 11 lbs. 12 oz. and is 23.5 inches long. She's in the 75% in height, weight, and head circumference. She's growing good and is very healthy!

New Cousin

Cambria's newest cousin, Gavin, was born Sept. 28 and they are almost the same size! She's just a little bigger. But he has a lot more hair.

Happy Girl

One thing we are thrilled about is how much she smiles now! Mostly she smiles in the mornings because that is when she is the most awake and alert so that's my favorite time of day with her. When I go in to get her out of her crib she's always smiling to see me.

Pictures like this make me wonder what Cambria will think when she's grown up and looking at pictures of herself. This one was all Skyler's idea.

Olympic Spirit

We don't have many pictures of me and Cambria together because I don't want pictures taken until I lose weight, but this was taken when we watched the Olympics and we watched more hours of the Olympics than most because of the 1:00, 3:00, and 5:00 am feedings! Judging by her outfit her favorite event is tennis. (She's wearing a tennis dress)

Grandpa Law had a great idea to have a picture of all the grandkids but it didn't work out since Cambria was really hungry and Hallie was tired and no one wanted to sit still. It was a good try though but will probably work better at Christmas when there will be another grandson to add to the picture!

Blessing Day

On August 31 we blessed Cambria. It was really special day because we had all our immediate family in town for it along with a lot of other family and friends. I loved the dress and shoes that we got for her but unfortunately didn't get any really good pictures of it.

2 week appointment

Cambria had her two week appointment today. She now weighs 7 lbs. 14 oz.! I couldn't believe it when we put her on the scale. Since her last appointment 10 days ago she gained almost two pounds. But she still doesn't fit in many of her clothes. She now is 20.5 inches long. The doctor was able to answer some concerns I had and he said that she is perfect. But her dad and I already knew that.

So hungry!

When she gets really hungry she will suck on anything.

Cambria has a hard time fitting into a whole lot of clothes because she is so small, but this is a really cute outfit on her. 

New Bouncy Chair

Here is Cambria in her new bouncy chair given to her by her aunt Kerilee and Uncle Judd.

She really likes just sitting in the chair and relaxing in it. Thanks so much Kerilee for the wonderful gift!

Daddy's little girl

This is one of my favorite pictures.  When Skyler gets home from work it's great because he always wants to hold her and we just hang out.  It's a nice break for me too when he comes home so I can have a little help.  Cambria really loves lying like this and she always looks so peaceful.  

Baby Shower

A surprise baby shower was scheduled for Saturday the 9th but it didn't really work out as planned because Cambria was born early!  But we still wanted to have it because we thought it would be more fun for all our friends and family to see her and not just me.  She was the hit of the party and it was a lot of fun.  We got her all dressed up in her party dress that her aunt Chelsea gave her.  I want to thank everyone who helped planned it because I was against having a baby shower but it was a lot of fun.  We had great food and were able to spend time with many friends and family.  

Bath Time

Here is our little girl just relaxing in her robe after her first bath. The bath itself was anything but relaxing as she does not enjoy being naked.

This picture was taken on Skyler's phone and we wanted to put it on here because we got a better angle of her cute face, and she was looking straight at the camera!

Cambria is Born!!

After a long day of being in pain, we went to the hospital around 8:30pm. We were there for an hour and a half and the nurse told us that the doctor was going to have us just go home with a percocet and told us to get some rest.

After being unsuccessful in getting rest, and with the pain getting more and more unbearable as the night went on; we called the nurse who was tending to us earlier and asked what we should do (as the contractions went from every 7-10 mins to every 4-5 mins). 

When the nurses' suggestions did not help the situation we decided to make a trip back to the hospital (now 3:30 am).  We arrived and the nurse checked her to see how far dilated she was.  She had dilated another half of a centimeter since the night before.  The nurse called the doctor and came back in an hour to check her progress (that was a very rough hour, as they were not able to give Jessica anything for the pain).  After that hour we were very pleased to find out that she had progressed far enough to have the doctor keep us at the hospital. 

They moved us into the labor and delivery room and gave Jessica the epidural (which was a BIG relief for her). After that they checked her and she was at a 4 1/2. They let us rest for about an hour and came back in and checked her and much to their surprise (and ours) she had progressed to over a 9.

Family members quickly made their way to the hospital. It was a short hour or so later that Cambria Josephine Tolman was born at 10:18am.  She weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces and was 18 1/2 inches tall.

She was the most beautiful sight to both mother and father and was wide eyed as she got her first look around.

Mother and daughter both were doing very well and the doctor told us we could go home only a day later. 

It has now been three days since the birth of our little angel and we are all doing very well. Skyler is really enjoying being a father and is wrapped around Cambria's finger. Jessica is doing very well with being a mother and loves to just hold her little girl.  Cambria is very easy to care for, and anytime she is fussy Jessica holds her close to her chest and almost instantly Cambria feels relaxed and calms down.

This will be the first of many posts all about Cambria.  We hope that you all enjoy the pictures of her, and of our happy little family.
