Otter Chaos

Link
For those of you who knew me in 5th grade know that my fascination with otters started then when I randomly decided to do my science fair project on them and even won 1st place in the animal division! I should say that my dad won first place because he was the one who made me the diorama of the otter's home.
Thanks National Geographic for making me happy tonight when I was bored but have a lot of things I should be doing instead.
That picture reminds me of Cambria saying "oh no" like she always does because she even puts her hands on her cheeks (if she were an otter of course).

Races, turkeys, and pies. Oh my!

What were you doing Thanksgiving morning at 8:00am when it was 23 degrees outside? I was running the Turkey Trot in American Fork and it. was. cold.
But after the first mile I warmed up really fast and wished I could have taken off the jacket I was wearing. I set a new record for my 5k time at 24:23. So a whole minute faster than my last race time.
I finished second in my age group and as a result I won a pumpkin pie, which was delicious by the way.
This is just after I finished the race.

If you look real close you can see me on the last stretch of the race. (I'm the one wearing red pants.)
We had a niceThanksgiving dinner and had a lot of fun playing outside because the weather was nice and Cambria loves being outside.

Cambria and Skyler making Cambria's favorite face to make because she is always says "oooh" to everything.
I made a candied apple pumpkin cheesecake pie which I thought was delicious and it looked really pretty too.

Pretty in Purple

I've been busy sewing a Christmas dress for Cambria but struggled getting her to hold still for me to take her picture today. She has so much energy and is always running all over the place and it is impossible to take a nice picture of her. But you get the idea of what it looks like. It also has a faux fur jacket that goes over the top but I have not made that yet.

I also made a dress for myself a few weeks ago and kept forgetting to take pictures of it.

This is me being exasperated at trying to get her to hold still for a second to take a picture with me.

Goals

Skyler left for Denver Monday and my goal while he was gone was to watch all 10 of the CSI:Miami's we have recorded. Since there are so many great shows on TV right now we don't have the time to watch them and unfortunately CSI has fallen by the wayside. However, Cambria has been sick and goes to bed early so I stay up and watch TV because 1. I get a little scared at night without Skyler and I guess knowing that if something happens to me someone will figure it out and tell Skyler is comforting and, 2. One of my all time favorite things to do is to fall asleep while watching television or a movie. I can't explain why I love doing it so much but I just do and I haven't done it in a long time. So, 8 down, 2 more to go. He gets home tomorrow so tonight I will watch the last 2 episodes.
Favorite Horatioism: "I guess dead men do tell tales."

Cambria has become increasingly good at eating with a spoon. The other day I felt adventurous and gave her a bowl of rice instead of just putting it on her tray.

As you can see it went well. She got smart and figured out it was faster to just eat directly from the bowl.

Dressed in Sunday Best

Cambria and daddy dressed up ready to go to church.

She loves kisses from Skyler.
Okay, I do too. :)

Giving daddy kisses. I love the look on her face!

Favorite Spot

Cambria has been climbing on or into EVERYTHING lately! Her new favorite spot is this drawer.

Halloween

This Halloween Cambria had 2 costumes. A pumpkin (which I wore when I was little) and a garden gnome. After she ate some candy she ate an apple and a banana.

Skyler dressed up as Dr. House and I was a clown sans the wig because it freaked Cambria out. My mom made this costume for me when I was 11 or 12 and I was going to wear it to a dance party and then trick-or-treating but I was really sick so I couldn't go to either. I know, sad. But this costume has been worn for at least a minute by someone every Halloween since then. But it is still in great condition.

We were glad that Halloween night was nice because Cambria enjoyed the trunk-or-treat that my parent's ward had. We enjoyed the candy she got for us.

The picture is blurry but that was the best I could get! She would not keep her hat on at all. Her pumpkin costume also had a hat but she would not wear that either.

Poor thing also had a hard time walking on the wood floor with her shoes on.

After the festivities we went grocery shopping, which was great because Macey's was not crowded at all for once. We got ice cream and Cambria got to eat some herself. We had to give her a good bath when we got home because she was such a mess from the candy and then the ice cream.
